On the invitation to our annual Canada Day family celebration, we told our guests that if they wore “red and white” they would receive a small treasure.

This year, I purchased lapel pins, writing and designing a card that explained the meaning of the Canadian maple leaf.  I attached the lapel pin to the card and presented it to each guest as he or she arrived in the requisite red and white attire.
