2016 A Haunting Halloween

img_7553-edited-and-framedIt’s almost that time of year again, and I’ve been pulling out our containers of decorations to get into the spirit… or should I say “Spirits” of this macabre celebration.  The season really begins at our house when the children and I start unpacking the decorations.  Once again, we’re getting ready to transform our home into a wickedly ghoulish, gory and gruesome Haunted House.  With more than skeletons in the closet, we’re hauling out the witches, zombies, crows, rats, black cats and tombstones for a “No Holds Barred Spookfest” that will send our party guests and trick-or-treaters over the edge with fear and hysteria.  I simply love it!

Carve-free Pumpkins

Carve-free pumpkins seem to be gaining momentum over the past couple of years, so I thought I’d see what all the excitement is about. Though I love the aroma of these fragrant orange melons and baking their seeds whilst carving, I have to admit this was a lot of fun, too!  Turned out that this was a lot less mess, and the possibilities were endless.  These are pictures of several I did over the course of a couple of hours.  I found most of the paraphernalia in our Halloween boxes: googly eyes, tiaras, fake eyelashes, mice, snakes, stencils, witch hats, masks and left over crystal spider pins from three years ago … the end result is amusing and unique.
